Hallam Plastics’ strategy and environmental policy has been created out of a desire to reduce its impact on the world’s eco systems by minimising waste and consequently maximising use of the resources that are used in our manufacturing processes.

In line with this strategy we have identified the legislative and regulatory requirements that apply to all areas of the company and have formed close working relationships with the organisations that enforce government and European legislation.

The policy requires Hallam Plastics to reduce all areas of waste by the careful management of finite materials, thus reducing our use of fossil fuels and increasing the efficiency of the business.

Where there is waste due to the processes requirement we have taken steps to ensure that

these materials are recovered and recycled, in-house wherever possible or if not, removed from site for recycling in a controlled waste stream system.

The ISO 14001 environmental system has been designed to take into consideration the requirements of ISO9001/2000 Quality Management and Health and Safety Management.

As all three disciplines impact directly on the way the organisation operates, cross referencing these important factors into one system was the obvious route for the company to take.

The environment management policy of Hallam Plastics is a continually evolving tool which encourages best practice in material requirement and the management of finite resources. The long term benefits are clear, but also better use of raw materials means less waste and consequently lower costs.
